You can change a dog's life and give a neglected or abandoned dog a good home. Dogs need saving from puppy mills and pet owners who neglect them. The pet adoption experience at different types of shelters can be different, so take the time to visit your local groups to see which suits you best. Be sure you choose the right Shelter or Rescue Group for you.
  1. Open access shelters: Take in all stray animals and are usually county or city shelters.
  2. Humane societies: private facilities. Some are open access and others are limited.
